I bought these pears twice. After about two days the fruit softens so it is actually better than when it first arrives but several of the pears had rotten spots in them. We cut the bad parts away and the rest was ok. We both wear partial dentures and so it is difficult to bite into hard fruit. But as I said wait about 2 days and it softens up and then the fruit is juicy. It isn’t as pretty as the photo shows so don’t expect beautiful perfectly colored and ripe looking fruit. It has a better taste than the grocery store but still not the taste of the pears we remember.
These are fresh, unbruised and very nicely presented in the shipping box but quite small. Delivery is quick. Wash them thoroughly with soap before eating. Cannot tell if the chemical odor on the peel is just that, some type of chemical treatment, or an odor from the shipping materials.

My family reported LOVING these pears. Did not get to see them in person, but I sent before the Christmas holiday, 12/2023.my family could not wait to bite into & the presentation pictures sent were quite lovely. Will send again!!!

I gifted these to my daughter and her fiancé as a healthy and interesting surprise. It was nice to have this variety of pears so that, once and for all, one can experience the contrast of these types. She let them sit in a beautiful fruit bowl for a while to ripen, and they were sweet and delicious when they enjoyed them.
My parents aren’t huge on candy sweets but do have a sweet tooth. These were a huge hit. Since I live out of state from them I was worried about how they’d arrive but my parents said they were in perfect condition. I’d buy again.
