I have been looking for so long for a good source of organic dried ginger root…so happy to have found one! I brew it as tea. Excellent!
This has the familiar sting and burn of fresh ginger, but the overall taste is woodsy, more like the taste of the skin than the inside of the ginger. Maybe I’m just too used to fresh ginger and this is normal for dried ginger.
Whole bag was a consistent size as noted in description. No shredded ginger and powder like other brands I’ve tried.
Indeed, very strong taste and aroma. I do not make any tea out of it, rather grind it in a coffee grinder into fine powder, and then mix with a bit of water or liquor – and the experience is fantastic (for those who can endure the raw spiciness of it).
Dried chunks are easily ground in coffee grinder—which releases even more flavor so can use less in my hot cider and turmeric. Can decrease to 1/4 tsp of the 1tsp ground.) Also, nothing to throw away as the ground is fine enough to use directly without straining.
Great quality and good product but such a big package! Hard to use it all. Using for tea and is wonderful.
Perfect for making my mala chai mix.
I love my ginger in my hot tea. It add a zesting as to the warm drink. A little bit of ‘tang to an already tasty drink. Highly recommend
